England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.

The three finalists have been recognised for their remarkable achievements over the last year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a unprecedented innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The three contenders were unveiled on a national radio breakfast show.

The champion will be announced during a live broadcast on the annual sports awards show on the 18th of December.

The show will be televised from 19:00 GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She came off the bench to score key tying goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the top young European talent.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"To be named a finalist for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in sensational style as - aged 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

And he wasn't finished there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, breaking the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for the honour once more is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the season's run tally and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm truly honoured to be nominated for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it encourages more girls to get into cricket."
